US Bruno Fans T-Shirt Campaign

On February 28, 2015 a campaign was launched using Teespring.com.  Using a design created by Lauren Priest, t-shirts were created for the members and friends of US Bruno Fans.  100% of the proceeds from the campaign, which went on for twenty-five days until March 11, 2015, were donated to the Québec Cancer Foundation (La Fondation québécoise du cancer), for which Bruno is the official spokesperson.  24 t-shirts were sold to fans, not only in the United States, but in different locations throughout the world, raising $230 CAD for the Foundation.

On March 11, 2015, Bruno himself shared this status update (now translated into English; an archive of the original French can be found in our Translation section): "I would like to take a moment to thank my friends from the American fan club who took the initiative of making shirts to profit the Québec Cancer Foundation for which I am the spokespearn. So to Ashlee who came up with the idea for it as well as Sarah and Ekaterina who collaborated and Lauren who made the design for it, in the name of the Foundation, a great thank you! In addition to the $230 that you raised, it is your heart that resonates to here in the walls of the Foundation. Bravo and thank you again! Bruno"

And on March 23, 2015, we received an e-mail from a representative from the Foundation thanking us and detailing how our donation of $230 will have helped people in Québec. Here is an English translation of the e-mail:

"On behalf of all those who surround the Québec Cancer Foundation or those who benefit from its services, I thank you wholeheartedly for your involvement.

Know that the sum of $230 that you raised for the means of your project “US Bruno Fans T-Shirts Campaign” made a concrete difference for the people suffering from cancer. Here’s how:

$30 permits one session of art therapy or two hours of physical activity with a kinesiology therapist for four people. These activities help to augment energy levels; to reduce fatigue; to more easily combat stress and anxiety caused by illness; to reduce certain secondary effects such as nausea; and to reconcile with one’s body.

$100 permits two people to have an hour of massage therapy. Carried out by a certified massage therapist, this care helps to reduce stress and anxiety and to clear emotions. The benefits: reassurance and relaxation.

$100 permits a night of lodging offered close to the place of treatment (including meals, transport, and activities) to a person who lives far from their place of treatment. Living in one of the Foundation’s hotels for the duration of treatment permits residents to share their hardship with other people who must also face illness, and to benefit from warm and personalized services.

In Quebec, close to one out of two people who cope with cancer over the course of his or her life. For 35 years, the Foundation has done everything in its power to support those people as well as their loved ones in daily life by offering living environments and services that foster their well-being. It is by the engagement by people such as to whom we reach out to see our mission through. Your support is essential.

Anticipating the pleasure of collaborating with you again, please receive our gratitude for your generosity and for the trust that you give."
