Dracula: Entre l'amour et la mort
Dracula: Entre l'amour et la mort (Dracula: Between love and death) was an idea conceived by Bruno Pelletier and Richard Ouzounian, brought to life in Québec in 2006 and again in Lyon, France in 2008. Dracula is a different spin on the classic tale originally told by Irish author Bram Stoker, whose novel was published in 1897. There have been many different adaptations throughout the years, one of the most notable being that of Francis Ford Coppola, whose film in 1992 starred Gary Oldman as the titular character and featured a twist in the plotline in which Mina Murray is the reincarnation of Dracula's lover.
This telling of Dracula has its similarities and its vast differences. The majority of the plot takes place five hundred years after Prince Vlad III is bitten by his bride, Elhemina, who is then killed for her crimes. Doomed to an eternity of suffering without her, Vlad Dracula vows vengeance. The events that take place five hundred years later as Dracula searches for the reincarnation of his beloved Elhemina unite five people as they all court both love and death.
